Patrón Story Bottle

Connected products can tell a story. Using a Novalia bluetooth board, I turned a Patrón bottle label into a tappable/interactive surface with access to exclusive content about the batch of tequila and recipes.

THREE THINGS

Bridge the gap between digital and physical experiences.

Tell the brand and product story to reveal new dimension and value.

Provide access to exclusive content that deepens the product experience.

TOOK RISKS. FAILED FAST. ITERATED.

I created several bottle prototypes. The first two attempted to use conductive ink with mixed success. The bluetooth board communicates directly with a smartphone to launch and play exclusive video content.

HOUSEHOLD FOIL SAVES THE DAY

In the end, we made a bottle tell a story using IoT and some foil. The electricity from the user's finger is conducted through the metal foil to sensors on the board. I hand-carved the base from cork to house the board of sensors.
